Do Diggers digg down new users?

I created a new Digg profile “gnoshme” as part of my new online identity and I’m retiring the old one ( will delete it ).

My old profile is about 2 years old and has a pretty reasonable reputation with a fair number of front page stories and thousands of comments and thousands of diggs. It’s not unusual for me to go back and look for replies to old comments I’ve made so I’ve a fair idea about how my comments are received, and in general, I get dugg.

Here’s the strange thing. ALL of the comments I made on day one with the new profile got a negative rating, and my profile ( after I’ve made only comments ) has 17 views!!

Do diggers ( except me ) always look at someones profile? Are people looking at this new profile, thinking I’m a noob and digging me down just for the hell of it? I can see no other reason.
